In Human Design, there are 12 Profiles or roles, determined by the person’s Personality Sun/Earth Line and Design Sun/Earth Line.
I’m a 1/3 which means I have Line 1 for my Sun and Earth Gates on the Personality side and Line 3 on the Design side. The majority of our characteristics are determined by the Sun/Earth gates and lines. And what people see is our profile, a frequency we emit. We don’t do anything; we just be.
1/3 is the Investigator/Discoverer and is one of the 7 profiles that have a right angle cross or a personal destiny. According to Steve Rhodes (The Prophecy of Ra Uru Hu), these people have no karma with others and “will get to their personal destiny independent of anybody else.”
Profiles with Personal Destiny (Right Angle Cross)
- 1/3 Investigator/Discoverer
- 1/4 Investigator/Opportunist
- 2/4 Natural/Opportunist
- 2/5 Natural/Saviour
- 3/5 Discoverer/Saviour
- 3/6 Discoverer/Perfectionist
- 4/6 Opportunist/Perfectionist
Profiles with Impersonal Destiny (Left Angle Cross)
- 5/1 Saviour/Investigator
- 5/2 Saviour/Natural
- 6/2 Perfectionist/Natural
- 6/3 Perfectionist/Discoverer
4/1 Opportunist/Investigator is the only one with a juxtaposition cross or a fixed destiny
Understanding the six lines is foundational to receive the wisdom of the 12 profiles. Think of them as a house, with the first line as the foundation and the sixth as the roof. I’ll share more about the six lines in other posts. Here’s what Human Design Founder Ra Uru Hu said about the Third Line.
To give you a preview of a 1/3, here’s Richard Beaumont, a 1/3 himself.
